SJ would be smart to take advantage of any of those.

Vegas probably could create some cap magic and invent reverse retention.

I don't love the six years of retention. I hate that we gave away two 3rds. But big picture trading Hertl was the right move for the future. Probably couldn't be done without retention.

I agree moving him couldn't be done without retention.
I'm not pleased with the duration or the fact that Hertl had a NMC and basically agreed to sign here and then screw the team.
Return was awful and the optics are even worse.
