Looked at kampf as not fully a cap dump but rather a useful nhler for the hawks to get for that PK and 3rd line center spot. He's not expensive but helps get to the cap floor with another professional vet player.

Fair assessment for Kampf, but he's a pure cap dump from the Hawks perspective. They don't need to add any more bottom 6 forwards. They have 4 under contract already for next year, 5 unsigned RFA's they can bring back, plus Dach and Slaggert who may compete for roster spots in training camp. Hawks need a top 6 forward to either play w/ Bedard or center the 2nd line. Can't see any reason the Hawks would put much positive value on Kampf.
