Canes don't move 1sts for rentals. You want them to salvage Lindholm, you're not getting this kind of return. You're better off looking at Boston

If Lindholm is willing to agree to a reasonable extension, sure. Anything higher than 7mil, Canes will pass.

At some point y’all should start spending more than 3rd rounders. If Lindholm comes with a 7x7.5 why not? Ship KK somewhere else

Why ship a 23 year old creating machine out to accommodate a 7 year contract on a player that will be what 35 when that expires? Why makes the team older, and apparently, worse? Canes will spend when it's worth it, this ain't it.

You’re never going to be more close than this year. EF Lebrun Severalli everyone is saying this. If you want to get a real shot at the cup, this is the year to do so. Pesce and others are all going to leave next year. If you don’t like spending big on rentals, fine go after Buchnevich. He would fit perfectly. Or even Vatrano. But making Gostisbehere and Puljujarvi deals isn’t going to make you win cups.

We already had the KK talk, he’s simply not good at all. I understand he showed some flashes when he was the 2C, but he just can’t handle it. How much time does he need? He’s making almost 5M for the next 7 years, if you could get that off without teams asking you to pay them that would be already huge. I promise you KK has all the tools to succeed, but he just can’t put it all together. And on à contender team like Carolina, how long can this last? Lindholm would directly fill that 2C role. Carolina including KK in these Pettersson talks tells a lot.. they wouldn’t do it if they believed he was their 2C of the future. just give it up man. but you can hope

Fair enough. With the Phili 2nd, could allow for a more aggressive approach. It's not a salvage player situation but a fit issue. Van has this guy all over the place and the lines are in a blender. Not sure why they are acting like a desperate team given their position in the standings. Kinda strange.

Seems about right given the center market is pretty barren and his production slow as of late. Not to mention joining a team that will consistently be in the playoffs for most, if not all of his career.

It's Elias Pettersson, they included Necas in that conversation, and he's been valued incredibly highly. That shows that the Canes value KK. He's been fine, his issue is that he can't buy a goal. His confidence is in the toilet, and the second he gets a couple, he'll snap out of it. He's going to be a 2C long term, and giving up on a 23 year old who is signed long term is beyond dumb, especially when he's already proven he can handle a defensive role.

They'll want more term than Buch. 18 months isn't exactly great. You're talking like the Canes window is about to close, but we're maybe 30 days from Morrow signing, we're 18 months from Nikishin coming across, and the Canes ever-deep prospect pool is still producing guys like Koivunen, Nadeau, Blake who will start to come into the conversation. There's no need for this "all-in" push you're trying to make it out to be. Sure, Skjei's likely gone. If only they signed Dmitry Orlov to fill that void next season. Come on, stop.

They messed with a team on a PDO bender and are starting to get bitten by it.
