Connor brown is not worth that much. the only reason he put up more then 20 points was because he was on a line with matthews.

So he will put up 30 goals playing with McDavid if he gets put there. He's young and turning into a good player. It may be to much. Maybe take out Slepy ?

Throw Michael raffl with mcnut and hell put up 25 goals, he'll cost a 5th round pick

maybe a little much for brown with Slepyshev but i think thats what it would take to pry him out of toronto. i like the deal.

Brown spent like half the season with Matthews playing against other teams best defensive players then played the other half with Kadri shutting down the other teams best offensive played and put up 17 ES goals as a rookie. Basically zero PP time.

Also good defensive play for a rookie, high hockey IQ and a great motor. You would be hard pressed to get the Leafs to trade Brown this early on when his value is still on the climb.

Gee, if you had seen even one period of a Leaf game last season, you might have learned that RW Nylander was almost exclusively with Matthews. Marner was Bozak and Brown was RW with centre Kadri and LWer Komarov. Yes he did put more points....he had 20 goals.

Interesting thought for sure on the trade. Too bad Mantha has had no pro experience (2 games) so a better read on his NHL potential could be measured.

Brown looks like he can play with any centre. He can shoot, dig in the corner, make plays and kills penalties and can play the PP, though he wasn't used on the PP that much

I think it's good value mantha is huge and could fight for a spot on there defence. Slepy would play on there third line and they get a good draft pick. I thought it was alright especially if they can't afford him but they will try hard to keep him I know that

Dylan, actually think that Brown may be the most underated and underappreciated player the Leafs have! His 200 foot game, his ability to play up and down the lineup, his sneaky offense, (actually had more ES goals (18) than any right winger, including Nylander and Marner) and his contribution to the second unit PK, is impressive! At least at this point, Mantha is far more a "project", than a prospect, albeit he projects out as a pretty solid 5/6 a couple of years out! (while Leafs have little of size currently they have selected 5 Dmen in the 2016/17 draft that are all over 6'5"and just as big) You offer solid value in this trade, but I believe the Leafs want to see more of Brown!
