So some simpler moves compared to my part 1 v1.
OTT trade with NYR
Kind of a simple one here, dont think ottawa lands a 1st round pick in 2024, so maybe get a 2025 pick, if thats still too much to ask, you can add a condition protecting the pick. The 6th their just to get Ottawa extra value.
OTT trade with FLA

Help them for playoffs, Kubalik admitly doesnt add much but if the trade pool gets dry by the end of deadline I can see them snatching up Kubalik for a late round pick. Florida can also be exchanged for any other team looking for scoring depth, again as the end of the deadline day looms, options will run out and teams will likely settle for Kubalik.
3-Way Trade with PIT, OTT and VAN
Not much to add here, Vancouver is apparently in on the Guentzel sweepstakes, and from my research is a little cap strapped, so Ottawa uses the extra space they get from LTRI usage, and get a mid round pick for their troubles. The trade I used for Pittsburgh and Vancouver is one I found online, seems reasonable for both sides, so I put it on here, seems like it was copied on different accounts and different sites so I’m not sure who the first person to make the trade is, would give them credit otherwise.
These trades leave Ottawa with some extra spots to give some of their younger guys a chance. Expect players like Jarventie, Crookshank, Sokolov, Guenette and Kleven to get some playing time, I also expect them to showcase Jarventie and Sokolov for a possible trade in the offseason.
Talking about off-season, most of the big moves Ottawa needs to make (Goalie, RHD, Chychrun) will be done then, and in Part 2 of my post.
If the Canucks are sending Mikheyev then the $1.5M retention from Pittsburgh means they're actually gaining cap space, no reason to be giving up an extra asset for unneeded extra retention.
