Dellandrea + 2nd would be close for Tanev without retention but not with retention.

As for Greer he's on LTIR and projected to be out for several more weeks yet. That makes him a poor trade target for anyhow. Additionally he's been a good fit in Calgary the team will probably want to extend him.

I really don't think it's as much about the East vs West as it is about the US. Dallas is a well situated team with good weather and as you mentioned, no state tax. A lot of players fine that pretty desirable. He might waive to Toronto for the playoffs but I think he's more likely to accept an extension in Arizona than he is in Toronto.

Pavelski may retire but he's still producing quite well at his age. As long as he is doing that I think he will remain in Dallas. Duchene will be expensive to re-sign, probably 6.5M+. All the reports are Dallas wants to add to their defense and they really can't do that if they are going to pay Duchene that much next year

Agreed. If Duchene wants a big raise then he’s gone

The problem for DAL is Suter’s contract doesn’t fall off the books till after next season, so how do they fit Hanifin’s new contract in!? I have the same question when it comes to shipping him to FLA. Originally I figured a Reinhart for Hanifin swap made sense, but not anymore given Reinhart has substantially increased his value this season and FLA will likely want to extend both Montour and Forsling as well

He fractured his foot a month ago with a timeline of 6-8 weeks, wouldn't be surprised to see him skating and ramping up after the deadline. He's not on LTIR but could slide there retroactive for any team looking to have a body in the playoffs when there is no cap. Flames are flush with bottom 6 forwards, I think he served his purpose but to log jam younger guys who are coming up is not worth keeping him around.

Suter has a cheap buyout last I checked. They can absolutely go that route

I don't think adding Sam Reinhart is logical at all anymore for Calgary.
