If Nick Robertson is available with that package. I am sure Winnipeg will give Toronto a bad player with a bad contract and a 2nd for that. How does Schmidt sound to you? Same talent level as Mantha.

You know Mantha is 2nd in Caps goals and 4th in Caps points right? He's far from a bad player and at 50% retention it's far from a bad contract.

There's a lot of valueless assets coming back to Washington, and Mantha+2nd is not happening when Robertson is the only significant asset coming back. The Caps will take a 2nd for Mantha from some team and call it a day.
