"Ready" for middle/top 6 minutes net year are: Berard and Othmann... but who gets over whom in the depth chart?
Not "ready" is Sykora so that answers that question... Then we also hit the question of who is a better NHL calibre player so far? Rempe or Edström?
For me, it is an obvious choice: Othmann makes it in over Berard and Edström over Rempe (unless we face a fighting team)...
However, this raises questions too... How long is Berard ready to wait for? We will not hae a hole in the lineup for many YEARS or unless there is a freak injury... So do we capitalize on the value he has now? Or do we wait for him to request a trade out?
Not to mention Robertson, who I believe should be traded this deadline...
The fact is that the Rangers have drafted forwards really well... Yes, we had problems with Andersson and Kravtsov, but no team is infallible...

3RW (Othmann, Berard, Sykora, Edström, and Brodinski are fighting for that spot)
4C (Edström, Rempe, Brodzinski, Nash, Leschyshyn, and Belzile are fighting for that spot)
3LD (Jones, Harpur, and (maybe) Robertson are fighting for that spot)
Also, you have a whole lot of faith in the fact that Chytil will be back next year. I dont think he will.
He is a big question mark... If he is back then this is the lineup, but if not then that means Trocheck is 2C and 3C is open so we just fill the gap with a UFA or Brodzinski

Or then you are just new to this whole NHL thing (in which case I apologize), but a team can waive a player (to send them down to the minors (AHL)), during this period of time a team can pick them up within a 24 hour window, and then they are picked up by an team (there is an order, but CBA to explain all of it) for free...
