How exactly do oilers add a 4 million dollar contract?

Devils have retention spots and cap to cover…so if we did sell Toffoli, it’s likely with 50% retained (so a little over $2 million).

Personally, I could even see Fitzy paying for the double retention if he got Broberg back instead of pick.

So Toffoli at $1m.

Devils haven’t been playing well. They have most of the core in place for future…but too may injuries, too young a blueline, some spotty goaltending…just hasn’t been our year.

Broberg is in the minors and doesn't affect the cap space.
