With an 8 x $7,500,000 extension for Noah Hanifin that's basically $24,000,000 on the left side between Hedman, Hanifin and Sergachev not including close to another $6,000,000 for Cernak Tampa will have the most expensive D core with a team that's going to be on the decline in another 3-4 years or so.

The only reason Cgy considers TB is that Hanifin has expressed interest in signing there long term. If that is not possible he will be dealt elsewhere that has a better set of assets to acquire him than a first round pick 3 years from now!

I kind of saw it same way…Tampa doesn’t have a ton of trade assets from off roster other than Howard, Thompson and 1st in 2026.
