Calgary laugh and passes, That offer is easily beaten if Craig Conroy were to move Rasmus Andersson.

Maybe, I think you underrate Minten here and how much Calgary would want him being a Western Canada guy who can be 3C as soon as next season. Not saying he will be moved but I don't think they get much more than that. When was the last time two first round picks were traded for one player?

Minten would be near the bottom in Detroit, That's just how much our prospect pipeline is superior to Toronto.

Would have to disagree. Only Edvinsson and Sandin-Pellikka are clearly better (I would also take Kasper and Danielson over him but they're all similar prospects)

I guess you haven't seen Danielson and Kasper play? Because both are far superior to Minten in overall skating and playmaking.

Thought Minten showed me more at the juniors (underqualified to be a first liner but would have thrived in Danielson's role) although like I said I would take Danielson over him I just don't see a significant gap between the players. Kasper I admit I have seen less of but AHL production is very underwhelming so far so we will have to see with him.

I don't agree with your trade suggestion, Calgary will get better than a couple B prospects and a 3rd in addition to a 1st for Andersson.

Kasper came into the AHL after a fractured knee cap and Grand Rapids at the beginning was playing underwhelming. But they've come on now and are currently 2nd in heir division. And Kasper is a main reason why.

Think you are underrating both guys Niemela still projects as a quality 4/5D in the NHL (in fact he is farther along than Andersson was at the same age) and Minten as a 2/3C similar to Backlund

McBain is probably worth more than Robertson, so Arizona doesn't make the trade. But Robertson is playing well, so what's the point.
Andersson would be nice but geez going by the post, a 20 man roster isn't wise
Here's the balance acquiring Andersson (even if Calgary agreed), for two years. Are the Leafs better having Minten, Niemela in the minors next season, the first and third, and 4.5m in cap to sign other Dman
Then Niemela and Minten are Leafs in 25/26 on ELC. Minten is the only centre prospect the Leafs hav

I just think Robertson isn't gonna work out here we've known for a long time Keefe doesn't like him and it seems best to part ways. McBain is likely at his ceiling now as a 3C while Robertson likely has more upside which is what Arizona would likely covet, although I think you could argue maybe the leafs toss in a 3rd instead of a 5th. Solid point on Andersson but I believe he can really thrive in Toronto. I also think Cowan can eventually be a centre at the NHL level and adding McBain makes Minten's loss easier to stomach

You literally just described Minten as a B prospect. and how the **** is Niemela ahead of where Ras was? Dude is in his D+4 season and hasn't even gotten a sniff of NHL action, while in his D+4 season Andersson was an NHL regular

I don't know why you would say Keefe doesn't like Robertson. Since Robertson has been injury free, he's getting ice time. Why do people think a coach would hinder his team because he doesn't like a player?
Andersson may thrives in Toronto. well he only has two full seasons till a UFA.
I'm rally miffed at so many Leaf fans in their high regard for Calgary Dmen.... You know the so called pathetic Leafs Dmen have the same GAA as the Flames.
So many have Weager, Andersson, Hanifan and Tanev as all Norris candicates.

Well if a potential 2C is a B prospect I'd love to hear your idea of an A. My bad on the Niemela point forgot he was a 2020 guy not 2021. So he's one year behind but he has dominated the Liiga, won WJC defensemen of the tournament, and has had a very strong rookie AHL season, still projects nicely.

Flames team defence is significantly worse, but I do agree to some extent that the Flames top four is overrated but I think that's why you go for a guy like Andersson that has continuously gotten better every season of his career

The Leafs are ranked 28th in prospects. I just hate the idea of trading two of the best, Minten and Niemela and a first for 2.5 years of Andersson. Again the Leafs can keep those three young assets at no cap implications next season, and spend 4.5m on "another" Andersson....though I admit not as good. Heck maybe UFA Tanev at 3.5m X 2 years might be an option.

Well an "A" prospect is somewhere between a blue-chipper (can't miss) and a B... someone with top line potential but isn't a sure thing, picking a random draft, I pulled up 2014m and guys like Jake Virtanen, Michael Dal Colle, William Nylander, Nik Ehlers, Nick Ritchie... etc.
