i'd be all for novak but he's probily going to cost more than that. Also without something else added or atleast retention i think a first is an overpay for dowd alone.

Novak's price probably starts with a first. Factor in this is an in division trade and Nashville is gonna want more. If Novak really is available a lot of teams will be in on him and it'll end up being a bidding war between cap strapped teams who need cheap depth scoring

Avs can't afford Allen next year either. There are better contracts for BU goaltender for the Avs.

It's actually one I could see the Avs going for, but he could end up getting a Jeannot overpayment in a bidding war. Risky as he's UFA, and questionable as to whether the Avs could afford to re-sign him.
