rebuilding is not an option. it either all in or sell this year to go all in again next year. only piece untouchable should be Yager and 2026 1st.

Rakell doesnt fit into the team as there is no room in the top 9 for him and pickering is a LD which ottawa is currently stacked in atm so a trade around a 24 1st, a good RD prospect and perhaps a current nhl rhd coming back for cap for the acquiring team (Jenson, Tanev, TVR etc)

well the price has a bit fallen off I'd say and the rakell + pickering + 3rd round pick is very close value wise

Rakell has turned into a borderline cap dump while Pickering is a redundancy, given that Ottawa is stacked at LD.

If Pittsburgh doesn't want to meet our asking price or help us get back the value we lost to Arizona, then we'll just sign Chychrun to an 8 year extension instead.
