ryjo just a bad fit in Colorado. lockeroom likes him a lot and he's a big faceoff winning guy, but he's not doing that much in Colorado

I like the idea, but I don't think we would trade Byram for a rental. If we were to trade him, it would need to be a young player that we would resign, someone like Morgan Frost or Casey Mittelstadt.

I think Byram is probably a summer trade anyways, but he's just not getting enough playing time for his development in Colorado.

Backlund isn't a rental. He already signed a 2 year extension that kicks in next year.

True, but he'll be 35 when that extension kicks in, and there's no way we trade Byram for anyone on the wrong side of 30.

Calgary isn't very interested in Byram anyhow... Or shouldn't be not with that injury history. The player Calgary is interested in is Calum Ritchie. I'd something based on Backlund + ?? for Ritchie + Johansen. Players the Flames aren't shopping like Mangiapane and Pelletier could be available if a player like Ritchie (who fits a clear need) is part of the return.
