That’s an easy pass by the Kings. Marky will be 35 at the beginning of next season with two years left on his contract and both of those years have 2.5m signing bonuses that whatever team he’s on will have to pay him so even at 50% retained that still makes him a 5.5m contract. There are younger better options out there for that kind of cap, so unless Calgary would take something like a 3rd/4th plus a mid to high prospect the Kings ain’t calling about him.

We'd only be interested in Markstrom with retention for local boy Jaret Anderson-Dolan plus the second.

Calgary won't retain on Markstrom or Mangiapane. They aren't UFAs so the Flames won't even consider trading either one unless they get a *really good offer. Flames won't take on Reeves either.
