Ummm isn't Vancouver better off with Hronek then two RHD on the other side of 30?

Why would the Jets do that? Can't afford to pay a 2nd pair dman 7M. Would rather give Demelo an extension around 4M because we already know he fits well with Morrissey.

He wasn't a top pair guy until he started playing with Hughes. The jets have found a fit beside Morrissey in DeMelo, so unless it is a true #1 then the Jets don't need to pay a dman 7M.

He’s better than demelo and younger. This is a big upgrade for winnepeg

As a red wings fan, I believe it’s pretty hard to judge. Hronek at times looked great in Detroit, but also often got exposed defensively. Due to our situation, he was used a lot. In Vancouver, he not only has the benefit on playing with Hughes, but they have a fairly favourable deployment. If he played with Morrissey in Winnipeg, that would be beneficial as well, but would likely require harder minutes. Tough to judge then where he would fall in line between Vancouver and Detroit in performance, as it would be somewhere in the middle. Probably more palatable for the jets would be this deal and a cheaper contract
