Brown has a league minimum contract, he can be buried with no cap penalty. There's no possible way Edmonton pays someone to take him. Put him on waivers and send him to the AHL if you want.
MAF is a rental backup who will play 15 or so regular season games then walk in the summer. He's an insurance policy, basically. He's not worth much. Middleton isn't going to contribute more than Kulak, probably less. He does save you $300k per year, but that's a drop in the bucket. Lettieri is a 29-year old tweener who has zero value. So you've overpaid by a lot in this trade.
Walker is playing well this year, but he's an undersized guy with no playoff experience. And a rental. Broberg is way too high a price to pay for that, especially considering you ALSO lost Desharnais to waivers in this scenario. Poor asset management all round.
