Flyers pass on Erne and Niemalainen. If they're retaining at all they might as well do the full 50%, and in that case would ask for a 1st in return

Why would Arizona go from maybe the best goalie contract in the league to the worst?

You want Jenner because he’s already insanely cheap. You do not ask for retention. Nor does this offer get it done.

Are you guys serious? Ryan McLeod is 24 and he's already putting up vastly superior 5v5 stats to Jenner. There's no way Edmonton wins this trade offer.

Arizona is an overpay too. That's too much for a backup goalie by far.

Hey CD282, yeah I think you're right (on both ARI and CBJ trades). I find if both sides think it's a bad trade I might be on the right track, haha. I had lower offers before and CBJ and ARI fans were freaking out, haha.

I found it useful to go back to last year's trade deadline deals to see how they compare... and it looks like EDM is overpaying on my proposals. So I might dial it back a bit.

That said, regardless of the underpay or overpay, I think Jenner, Ingram, and Walker would make for a great playoff team (and Ingram and Jenner would be around for next year as well). Walker is a rental.

I'm not sure I see Ingram as a backup, but more of a 1B. 1.95 for 2 more years after this year is a great bargain, so that is why I was willing to pay a lot for him.
Similarly, with Jenner, he is on a great cap hit, so to get him for 2 more years after this year at 2.75M (after 1.0M retained) is worth McLeod, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. That's a lot but having him for 3 playoffs at low cap hit is worth it.

Walker is a rental, so I think a 2nd and a 3rd with retention makes sense plus a couple of fringe players.

Edmonton's future is kinda decimated from these trades but this gives them a real shot at a Cup before McDavid and Draisaitl have to sign again.

Maybe, but 2 first-round picks and Bourgault, who was a 2021 1st round pick, and goalie Rodrigue (2nd round pick in '18 with 3rd highest SV% in AHL this season, 5th highest SV% last season for goalies under 23) is nothing to sneeze at. Plus Campbell's last 6 starts have him looking like he's bouncing back. But there is no way the Oilers can take a chance on trying him now while they are in the hunt. ARI has lots of time to see how things shake out.

2 x late 1st isnt nothing for sure but AZ also has 13 picks in 1-2 rounds next 3 years and hoping campbell can be useful is a huge gamble when has 3+years @ 5m. look at from AZ fans and players - you trade a solid (cheap under contract) #1 G to get more futures (one of the 1st is currently 15yo so not helping for 7/8 years) and a couple AHLers (might become something might not) and a awful contract (hoping somehow he reinvents himself @ 32) sends a horrible message.

Jenner is the captain there, you're always going to get an emotional response from the fanbase when trading for their captain.

I don't disagree that Jenner would be a good add, but not at the expense of Ryan McLeod. Ingram would 100% be an upgrade on Pickard too, but it's hardly worth multiple firsts to land a 1B or 3C, that's all I'm saying.

in a vacuum, obviously Boone isn't the best center out there, but he IS the Blue Jackets. One of the very few vets on a team that desperately needs leadership. it would need to be a big overpay
