I like the first deal. Adding two other 4th line/13th forwards makes no sense. Especially, for good prospects.

I don't. Wennberg has fewer points than Mikheyev in more games played, and a lot more ice time. I get that Mikheyev has often played with Pettersson, but Canucks fans have actually complained about how Pettersson hasn't actively taken over games enough this season, so we can't also say he's mega carried Mikheyev, who is just scoring at a solid middle 6 rate anyway.

Mikheyev is also at least good defensively, and useful on the PK. Wennberg is terrible defensively, and doesn't make up for it with enough offence. I'd rather have a player who is good defensively and can get carried to being competent offensively. It's a lot harder to try to cover for a defensive liability who only scores 40 points. It's why Boudreau was benching Hoglander when he was struggling to score, but playing irresponsible hockey. Wennberg is technically a centre, but he's terrible at face-offs, so he doesn't even add value there

Miki hasn't produced much of anything in the past 15 games and his ice time is getting cut pretty heavily too. He's not on the PK either. Beyond that, I believe it's something like 10 pts in 25 games. Hardly any goals scoring and he doesn't create.

Wennberg has been pretty decent on the PK this season. He's also a UFA and Canucks get $5M back to replace Miki or apply it to the D next season.

Fischer and O'Brian are there to add something the Canucks will need in the playoffs, truculence. Miller, Joshua, Lafferty and Zadorov will need all the help they can get and you really don't want those players in the penalty box, in fact if I was an NHL coach I would forbid Dmen from fighting, except in the most extenuating circumstances. I'm not sold on either Podkolzin or Raty at this point in their careers.

That's fair. Could be cheaper imo.
