There is no way Minten is NHL ready or Domi is capable 2C. Too much optimistism Hildeby is NHL ready either.

Hanifin and Roy decline, Neither Americans are wasting their time in Toronto. Neither want to play in Toronto or remain in Canada.

Reports have shown an actual interest for hanifin to sign a multi year deal worth 7.5 million to remain in Calgary and Calgary broke off the talks. There is always more between the lines. I think there is a partial interest for Hanifin to remain in Canada but the problem then has if New York, Boston, etc... offers 7.5 million per as Toronto as a Ufa. What else can Toro to offer to coax him to sign. I don't see much and easily see Hanifin going to Boston then.

As for Roy he is with LA, not Canada the Canadian media could be of interest from previous players. Where the problem lies is if let's say New Jersey, New York, Dallas etc... miss out on Hanifin because he signs with Boston, what stopping them from a massive offer for Roy.

Of both players, Roy is the better possibility to sign at a 6x6 offer but far from guaranteed and still not very good odds.

I never said Roy was in Canada, I know he's in LA just saying he's not going to sign with a Canadian team if he doesn't remain in LA.

As far as Calgary and Noah Hanifin are concerned, Calgary would only be the team in Canada that Hanifin would stay with. It was Hanifin who wanted to see what direction the Flames were heading before he agreed to re-sign there. And obviously Craig Conroy didn't like it and withdrew the offer to him.

Yes, it does all depend on the direction and Treliving has a relationship with Hanifin so possibility is there too with Toronto's potential with Matthews. That being said I agree he has more appeal with American teams so if Boston offers the same deal of 7.5 per, I don't see Hanifin signing with Toronto for 7.5 per. It will take 8 or north of it. Then Toronto can't afford him and thus a pipe dream. I think Hanifin would be happy with a Canadian team but only for higher than other teams would offer.
