Fair. If I’m looking towards seasons in the future, I decline. If I’m looking toward making a run this season, I accept.

Rangers only need Monahan out of those 3. And they’ll give up picks for him

Montreal isn’t gonna fleece NYR with a rental

he's a 4th line center, a pretty good one but they'll need cap space to re-sign Pavelski, Duchene, Harley, Lundkvist, Wedgewood, and some depth guys, they might need to move someone to keep all of them

Kovacevic would be to replace Schneider on the bottom pairing and Ylonen would be a cheap bottom 6 RW which from what I’ve heard from Rags fans on here is a need. I wouldn’t call this a fleecing by any means, NY addresses needs entering the end of the season into the playoffs and Montreal adds a young RHD who could become part of their core through the rebuild.

They can get Monahan for picks, keep Schneider and bottom 6 RW isn’t a need. And if it is, not at the expense of Schneider

Drury and Gorton have bad blood so I doubt a trade happens

Maybe I’ve missed something over the years because I’m not a Rags fan, but what bad blood? I understand Drury was Gorton’s assistant before he took his job but that’s nothing unusual in the NHL, doesn’t necessarily mean bad blood.

There was always rumors that Drury didn’t agree with some of the things that Gorton did or who he drafted. Not to mention, I’m pretty sure Gorton and Davidson were fired for not agreeing with the organization for releasing the league call-out (Wilson incident)

The first point is not unreasonable, the AGM isn’t always going to agree with the GM they’re not hired to be yesmen. In interviews Groton only really had nice things to say about him.

Now the second point. I would assume that would lead to bad blood with James Dolan, not Drury. From what I’ve seen and heard Dolan isn’t exactly the easiest guy to get along with…

You may be right about bad blood between Drury and Gorton but I just haven’t actually read or heard of any actual prove of this so I’m going to stick to the assumption they don’t have anymore of an issue dealing with each other as they do with any other GMs in the NHL.

Well it could be nothing between Drury and Gorton, but I can see Gorton not playing nice with the NYR organization trying to make a trade

But Dolan might be the worst pro sports owner ever

Rangers and Habs pass. I'm rather to target the 1st round pick than Schneider.

Interesting trade with Dallas, but I think Montreal will keep Savard.
