Riley and parako were dynamite in the WOCH years back I’d bring him over plus the other stuff values can definitely be tweaked cause everyone has their own opinion but I’d enjoy this I think………

I’d be more embarrassed if I dedicated a large portion of my life rooting for a team that only has a 5% clip of getting out of the first round in the last two decades…

I’d gladly take a dman who can net 50-60pts a season at 7m than a declining 2RD who needs good linemates to hold up his stats at 6m.

Blues fans choosing to ignore his rapidly declining career trajectory to die on the hill that he’s still somehow worth even a fraction of his contract is pure stockholm syndrome.

we all have hills to die on i guess

1 - By no objective measure has Parayko been a "2RD" in years now. He played the hardest minutes of any dman in the league last season, and has played even harder minutes this season, as he spends half of every night carrying Leddy and the 4th line forwards against top lines. This has all been pointed out to you numerous times by numerous people, and yet this 2RD nonsense persists. At this point, it's just a lie.

2 - Last season, Parayko and Rielly had the same exact amount of 5v5 points. Just FYI.

3 - Parayko has played his best hockey yet this season, so he is not declining in any sense of the word, let alone rapidly.

It's really sad how certain people cling to BS beyond all reason and evidence, especially when everyone already knows they do not watch the player they're trying to insist they know the most about. But hey, you just keep congratulating yourself for a stance with no leg.

We all get it you guys are hopeless homers. Parayko isn't good enough to carry a pair. He needs better players to carry the load and he supports them. That isn't worth 6.5. His expected goals for

They are in fact not good. 44% expected goal percentage is in fact not good

Wait... you think Leddy and Scandella and Rosen and Mikkola carry/carried Parayko???

Here comes the expert who never watches Parayko play...

Isn't it hilarious?

The Leafs fan who never sees Parayko play telling the Blues Fan who's seen Parayko's entire NHL career he's wrong about the player. 🤔

You can't make this up! 🤭

His "best hockey to date" , analytically speaking, was when he was sheltered behind Pietrangelo.

You do know that it was Parayko that always was matched up against the opposing teams’ top lines and not Petro when he was here right…Parayko is not a super offensive dman but would take him as shut down defender over damn near anyone.

K - here’s some new material - if the Leafs had Parayko, they would have one more than 1 playoff series in the last 20 years.

K - how about the Blues team that is currently rebuilding/retooling (whatever phrase that you want to use) being lead by Parayko that is about to pass the Preds in the standings…might want to worry about your own bad contracts pal

What is he leading them in, mediocrity?

You can only use the "my eye test" argument so many times before needing to show some sort of evidence to suggest he's actually playing his "best hockey to date".

Which couldn't be further from the truth

He leads them in TOI. Main reason they won last 4 games. Most of the team is hot garbage.

Also since you like to just pick and choose certain stats - his overall PDO is better than Josi’s this season and is basically even with him for their careers. I don’t think he’s a better player than Josi.

"Analytically speaking" = I never actually watch the player.

Cool. Ya know, you guys crow on about the "eye test" all the while missing that we have BOTH the eye test every damn game + all the analytics you see. You just have the analytics. And don't seem to understand them too well. So you enjoy that second-hand, single-pronged, entirely subjective basis for judging players (that regularly features outright falsehoods as "mic drop points"), and we'll just keep using ALL real world observational tools possible. We may not get every opinion right or spurn every potential bias, but at least they're educated opinions.

1 - Not my opinion. In fact, this comes straight from the analytics crowd.

2 - Not my opinion. Its an established and easily verifiable fact. Do you know what a fact is?

3 - My opinion, but far from mine alone. Hell, even the TSN clowns were saying this the other night. It's a fairly widespread opinion... ya know, among people who actually know what they're on about.

At best, that's two swinging strikes out of three swings.
