It’s not an overpayment at all. Giroux is easily worth a 1st ++ and now you’re asking us to retain 3.25 mill for another year too. That’s costly

Giroux might be worth a 1st and niemela half retained he doesn’t even net minten at 50% retained

We aren’t using a first on a forward we do not need, highly highly unlikely we even use the first this year

Dear Mr SomonesOffended: We agree on many things but please don't use what a Brad (or any GM, coach, player) says publicly about trades or player movement. It's for public consumption and may/may not have any truth to it. What else is going to say, "Minten, Cowan and Hildeby are available in a trade." Now I agree with you the Leafs probably don't do the deal as proposed, but it has nothing to do with Trevling says publicly.

I agree, the Leafs have so few NHL prospects, any good GM shouldn't be trading them away. I'm not as high on Minten as so many Leaf fan, but certainly looks like he can be a full time centre in the NHL.

I think he'll be an NHL centre. But his ceiling is 3rd liner and even that is probably a couple years away. He shouldn't be untouchable.
