there's just no reason for the sens to trade Chychrun for that, he likes playing in Ottawa and has a year left under contract. If its a hockey trade that fills a need for the sens then maybe he can be moved, but were not trading him just to capitalize on value

If he does get traded, the Sens are definitely not going to be retaining, considering he's got another year on his deal after this. Goodrow takes minimum a 1st just to dump, and Ottawa will not be a team in position to take that cap dump. Goodrow's contract might cost a 1st on it's own, Chychrun is a 1st and 2 - 2nd's (or equivalent prospects) and not contingent on deep playoff runs. (+ pick for retention.)

as per Chychyrun himself yesterday via TheAthletic he said he wants to stay and the notion he wants out is wrong. Again if he gets traded in a move to address deficiencies elsewhere on the roster then I could understand it, but this trade doesn't do that for the sens
