winger targets

Description
Honestly, there aren't any high-impact centres available outside of Lindholm and I don't want to give up the farm for him. I think our centers are good enough to compete, especially with Coyle's breakout season (on pace for nearly 70 points!). I'd rather see the Bruins target an undervalued winger at the deadline.

Just as a note, I wouldn't do all these trades, only one.

This one would be tricky to fit under the cap. Might have to get creative, or might not even be possible.

Same story here in terms of cap difficulty. Would probably be a similar return as Reilly Smith as well.

    Sharks decline.

    I'm hoping a retained Duclair gets a 2nd.

    This season. Not in 2025.

But if not we'll have to accept a 3rd.

    Deadlines make deals.

Eberle is interesting since he has a NTC for 16 teams. Boston probably makes the cut. His value could be all over the place when compared to other players of his age/skill.

Duclair was just dumped for a 5th. Not sure he has any value.
Smith was traded for a 3rd. Pitt won’t retain and he has little value at $5 million
    Eberle would be interesting.

Almost made an ACGM with Smith going to Boston. They could probably acquire him for a 3rd to be honest. Unlikely that Dubas would want to retain though.

Yeah it would be a clear signal that they're rebuilding. But with new management who knows.

If they fully rebuild theyd probably save the slots for someone else. Only have two and one would have to be for EK

    Probably no, for three reasons:

    1. We probably don't have the assets to acquire him without giving up something significant from our roster
    2. We already have Pastrnak for that high end goal scoring role. Obviously having Guentzel would be a nice luxury but it's not a dire need and it would cost a fortune.
    3. Even if we extended him, we would have a lot of money tied up in wingers, which is a bad idea imo.

Duclair and Smith weren't traded for so little because they're bad players that don't have value. They got traded for so little because every GM knew that Vegas and Florida did not have the caproom to keep them so they had to move them meaning they had no leverage in trade talks.

Florida and Vegas signed better players and dumped them. They way they’ve played they have even less value now

Vegas did sign a better player in Barbashev but that does't mean Smith is bad, he has put up very similar stats to Barbashev this season and can also kill penalties. At the deadline with retention, which Boston would need, Smith is at least worth a 3rd/2nd. Duclair hasn't played very well but he is still worth like a 3rd at the deadline. Also some prime example to show what I was talking about with the GMs having no leverage are when Vegas traded Fleury and Pacioretty. They literally got future considerations for them, and if you think either of those players were worth nothing at the time you'd be plain wrong. Other GMs just knew Vegas had to move them so they didn't give up assets for them. Fleury literally got traded for a conditional second at that same deadline.
