Leafs don’t even ask marner to waive cause they reject that instantly

Let's just say that the Leaf need another top end Dman. Now lets assume they won't move Matthews and Nylander cause they just signed. Tavares will never waive for anywhere, as the hometown boy and since no one can take a 11M cap.

The only core guy to be moved from the leaf is Marner.

Now for a top end Dman that can be available, there is not a lot of option in the league. I would list Werenski, Chabot, Chychrun, Weegar and Sanheim. Maybe the 1st is too much, but the leaf would have 2 top players for an Elite one. How would you adjust this trade or what would you aim for instead of Sanheim?

If he once again doesn't show up for the playoffs then I would consider trading him. But I do believe he will eventually figure it out and I hope it happens in TO but right now, he isn't getting traded nor would be waive
