Yeah well you guys are the ones who said the current lineup was addition by subtraction getting rid of Holl. Which means your opinions were that the current lineup would be defensively better. So to be brutally honest I don't really care.

I never said that, I was one of like three people here who actually knew what they were talking about with Holl (and Engvall and Kerfoot) while people whined about hitting and heart and other nonsense. Now they got what they wanted but somehow it's dubas' fault because they cant stop thinking about him

The Leafs need defence. Thanks to getting rid of Holl we also now cannot retrieve the puck and even if we did we can't move it up ice. Two things Holl did well. At this point they will need to move players to bring in defence and we need players who can do those things. From day one I said that while Holl is no defensive superstar He does things we desperately need and does them well. As for the price of players, if people aren't telling you how garbage your trades are they aren't realistic. Nashville needs some scoring. Jarnkrok can provide that. The other two are players that those teams are likely to trade and can provide things the Leafs are lacking. People are going to crap on it but something like this is what is needed or it's over already for the Leafs. Think is fans and coaches alike seem to think defence is worthless. The truth is I'm sick of everyone acting like you have to trade the top guys or that defensive structure isn't something that exists in the NHL anymore and all I want is a gm who has any idea what he's doing to do what needs to be done.
I get it. You guys hate defence and every game should be a basketball scoring game. Doesn't make you right. The Leafs need to do what needs to be done to win a cup and I don't care if it's an overpay. Just get it done.
