Description
Not that anyone cares i know, but here's how I'd re tool or whatever you wanna call it.

Fire into the sun= Self-explanatory

Actively looking to trade= either overrated/valued/paid and trying to move on or unlikely to be a core piece moving forward and could potentially use as trade bait to acquire a core player

Extremely indifferent= Could go either way/unsure of ceiling so couldn't really fit them in any given category. If they were dealt I wouldn't mind. If they were on next years team, I would not mind either.

Would do it for the right price= Again, self explanatory

Will listen but, probably unrealistic= Deals for players like this don't really happen until they ask out. Id actively move skinner but like who is touching that contract, right?

hmm. I never considered edmonton a landing spot cause I just figured the cap wouldn't work for samuelsson.

Krebs idk someone of a similar age who needs a change of scenery?

Cozens either a fwd with two way upside or an RHD who isn't a goofy goober in his own end

It would have to be an offseason thing obviously but he is the exact type of player they need. The only thing is that he plays the left side but I wouldn't mind a core of

Ekholm - Bouch
Nurse - Kulak
Samuelsson - Desharnais

its tricky cause even if you can make the cap work, the oilers are at a point where there isnt really a prospect in their system that makes sense for this kind of deal/the sabres and all of their established players are too good to move for samulesson cause it'd be a downgrade.

If they don't make a big splash at the TDL I think a package of 24'1st + 25'3rd + Bourgault/Broberg could get it done

I'd probably do it for the first rounder, especially if I thought I could use it elsewhere. But the chances the sabres move him are slim. The only way I think its realistic is if its some kind of 1 for 1 that addresses an area of need.

Edit: Id probably prefer a 25 1st though since I think Edmonton will win this year lol

Lmao fair enough, Edmonton still has a mass amount of issues to deal with before they're serious contenders (Adding another goalie, grabbing an experienced 3C and most importantly adding another top-4 guy) but I like the fact that other fanbases have hope for us!

I understand your stance though, the Sabers have more than enough talent to be a top-10 team they just need a bit of an identity shake-up. I'd offer Kane for him but I don't know if the Sabers wanna deal with him again lmao

Yeah I feel like the bridge is burned between kane and the owners although Ill be the first to admit that would be a hilarious add.

EDM isn't perfect but they give me major STL vibes the year they won. Just like a sudden realization after the firing like "hey actually were great, lets do the thing" lol. Hard to explain but their 5v5 games even under woodcroft was straight heat. As long as the goalies hold up I like their chances.

I think the talent on the Sabres is severely overrated, but I think there's enough there that there's no reason why they can't eventually strike lightning and get lucky. Really only needs to happen once and then suddenly players are interested in signing with them or waiving no move clauses. Probably need a good goalie though lol.

Sabres are working on years of potential. It means nothing to me/us anymore unfortunately. Probably not gunna trade with a division rival anyways.

All goalie prospects are total wild cards, regardless of their history. The hype around levi because of how bad goaltending has been coloured everyone's evaluation of goaltending. He's a prospect like any other. If I can sell high on that hype, it's an easy yes.

Im in no way trying to dump him or anything. But if I can turn a wild card prospect into a legit top six forward, top 4 d-man, or actually good/established starter, this is a no brainer.

Not exactly, even if the first two are available for Levi straight up it puts in nigh bottomless pit in net where UPL is the only man left standing.

Bottomless pit? Levi is a sub .900 goalie. Luukonen has a .909 save percentage. That's markedly higher than Juuse Saros lmao. Not saying he's as good or anything, just that this idea that they're in a bottomless if they trade a goalie prospect is a huge stretch. They'd need another goalie in either scenario.
