Value is there, but the reason I can't give 5 stars is because I think ARI would want a better pick. Also with these moves we're tight to the cap and one or two injuries could put us in trouble.

Agree with ON3M4N, the problem with going after a high priced LW and signing Pasta is being tight to the cap. That's why I believe mgmt/coaching will do their best to fill holes with prospects instead.

I would also put JFK in the AHL for a year and maybe move Backes to 3rdC and insert Heinen or Senyshyn

I'd put JFK in the minors with this roster too, but instead of Backes at C I'd put Duchene. Vatrano needs to move up to the 3rd line somehow and isn't good at RW. I'd bump Bjork up to the 2nd LW and Vatrano to the 3rd LW to play with Duchene and Stafford. That'd be a great 3rd line and we'd be really balanced.

Yeah, not much space, we'd only be able to add a 3M player at the deadline most likely. All of that could be solved if we just let Stafford walk or talked him into a deal that was half the size of the one he's signed to in this mock. If we gave Stafford a 1.25M contract, which is a fair amount considering his total year last year, we'd be able to trade for a guy with a 4M+ contract at the deadline. That's all I believe we need, I don't see us adding a top end player for this years run.
