Description

I like Zegras but don't love him. I don't know yet if he can drive his own line and he's horrific defensively so I wouldn't give up MIro, Leonard, Stevenson or Chesley for him. The positives to Zegras is he's only 22 and has been on a bad/terrible team his whole career. Maybe he can round his game and become a play driver on a better team as he gets older, but that's a gamble. I'm sure some team would out bid but this isn't a bad package at all.

Cristall elite skill and passing would thrive with McTavish, Cutter, Terry etc.

Ducks have a slew of great young LHD coming so Iorio can be that anchor for Mintyukov or Zellweger. Ducks also have some great RHD so they might not care about Iorio. Caps can replace with Suzdalev or pick/s.

I love Lapierre but there's no room for him really. He'd be stellar 3C behind Carlsson and McTavish with the ability to play top 6 when one gets hurt.

If you get Zegras put him defensively but skilled players like Milano and Reinhart. I will say, if Zegras does work out, a future top line of Miro-Zegras-Leonard would be nasty.

you wouldn't get even a remotely better offer elsewhere take jenson and the picks and run. Hes no longer desirable with his contract and performance as of late let alone injury history. I don't see another team making a better offer.

And like I said in the intro I completely understand why this wouldn't happen without a top prospect. Just saying this would be my offer that I'm sure someone would beat out.

Since you don't have a 2024 first-rounder, I think that the only package from the Caps that would win the bidding is Iorio and McMichael plus the 2025er or Leonard plus the pick.

I know, I know, Leonard is the next David Pastrnak but they said that about Slafkovsky, Wright, LaFerriere, Byfield, Kakko, Turcotte, Zadina, Kravtsov, Patrick and Puljujarvi. Caps fans should be a little more circumspect about planning to attend Leonard's Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
