If you remove Samsonov and Daccord, both sides accept the trade.

Is Daccord untouchable for Seattle? I'd love to bring him in

Daccord is a good goalie for Seattle.
I can’t see Seattle doing this trade, in my opinion.

Probably for the same reasons they wouldn’t wanna move him

Also….
How is it that Leafs fans STILL don’t seem to understand that NO ONE is gonna take Samsonov off your guys hands unless u pay for them to do so???
He’s playing like crap & no one is gonna want him
It should be very obvious to all

I dont know why people keep trying to trade for Daccord

SEA would be stupid to move him nor I see them having any interest

Hes basically their starter

Dreidger is probs the guy they will look to move but hes also had issues

In general I could see them trade Larsson but not Daccord

If Samsonov is movable, I don't see that happening until closer to the deadline......

1. Be a team looking for goaltender depth given he has gone through waivers.

2. Only movable if it looks like he can be usable in a pinch. Right now, just no.

3. Leafs WILL BE retaining (at 50% still significant saving there given he is currently $2.3 million against the cap)

4. The "return" still may prove negative. At best it is a used jock strap and bag of pucks. I suspect Tre maybe moving an asset to free up the space; even if a team looks at him as a #3.

I dont see retention

Look at CBJ and LAK deal where Quick (0.876sv) and a 1st + 3rd went for Korpisalo + Gavrikov

But in general I dont see Toronto spending assets for a goalie. They voodo. Sammy has the same chance of rebounding as a traded for goalie coming in and putting up good numbers on this team.

Its basically a waste of assets that should be spent on a Dman or two

I only see it being part of an already existing deal a-la Khudobin in the Domi trade last deadlien

Oh, there has to be retention.

Samsonov right now is a #3 tender.... at best.

The Korposalo deal is a terrible comparison. Quick was moved for cap purposes to a non-playoff team.

So even running the list down.....

Gibson? I think he is a Duck.for another season...Dostal needs more seasoning.

Elvis? Maybe. But that leaves the Jackets with Tarasov and.....?

Forget about the Hawks.... Mzarek is in an expiring deal.

Sens? Can't see them giving up on Korposalo yet.

Sharks? They could be just content with Kahkonen and Blackwood (Inwould be right now)

Allen? He actually fetches a positive package

Vladar? Don't see Calgary taking on cap space.

So..... yeah, right now, zero fits for Samsonov - unless a team like Carolina (noting Peters is there, and Anderson remains a mystery); Vancouver (where Silvos could I suppose); or LA (where that depends on Rittich) takes a low cost flyer.

None of these listed teams take him.on full value. Burying him for $500k could make some sense, but at full value. Nope. Never.

That is possible I suppose.

Definitely not a positive asset at this point.

Definitely not, either they keep him as a 3rd stringer or what I said above happens

Quick was the borderline #3 goalie in LA by the time they traded him and costed 5.8m against the cap was owed 2.5m with a 0.876sv

Sammy who is less against the cap and is owed less wont cost any retention. But I doubt the leafs even want to move him as the potential for rebounding is higher than the new guy coming in and dominating or being better than what we have. Basically a waste of assets

In the end

CBJ took Quick without asking for anything as they got a 1st for Gavrikov and a 3rd for Korpisalo

CBJ even got value for Quick despite the horrible numbers shipping him off to VGK

They didnt care they had 4 goalies by then just wanted depth

That said I dont see Toronto moving Sammy unless a real deal breaker of similar proportions arrives but thats doubtful as nobody good out there rn besides a select few but teams aint moving em lul
