Description

With the lack of consistency in goaltending play across the NHL over the last 5 years, I dont agree with using premium assets/cap space on a goalie. Especially a player like Gibson, who is on the wrong side of 30 with big money left. Give a shorter term guy like Comrie a chance, let him/Daws/Schmid compete for the net, they cant be worse than Vitek. If none of them have taken the reigns by TDL we can re-evaluate, but at least we will know we gave a smarter option a try.

I agree. Only unwanted goalies are available in-season. Maybe a guy like Vladar at deadline. But unlikely anyone better will be available without moving assets.

Best to save ammo for better option over the summer.

(Or add a dman!)

Comrie has played like the second coming of Carter Hutton, who may as well have been legally blind for the last two years of his Sabres contract. He’s played one decent game this season where he got a win. The rest of the time he has been a liability. I doubt he’s the answer for New Jersey anymore than he was in Buffalo.

LMAO. Second coming of Carter Hutton made me legit lol.

Havent gotten a chance to see Comrie this year but I was impressed with his time in WPG and (briefly) NJ. Seems like Sabres are making all their goalies look bad this year. Not that any of them have played great, but structurally definitely not helping. For how bad Vitek has been in NJ, I’d give Comrie a shot, and if he sucks just waive him again.
