I wouldn’t really say this helps Toronto much. It just pushes the problem further down the road and they lose a young, top pick outta it for no reason.
Toronto needs a goalie that’s waiver exempt otherwise once Woll returns they’ll lose whoever they acquire or Martin Jones to waivers and they’re back in the same problem of having only 2 options at the NHL level with a a fragile starter. That’s not worth losing a 1st round pick for

Leafs aren't giving up a 1st in this trade. TVR is a very solid bottom pair dman. We need a true top 4 upgrade. Lindgren is having a very good year, so I would be interested in him but his value wouldn't be crazy high.

If we trade our 1st we best be getting a very solid top 4 D man coming back. I understand Sammy is dead cap also, but I am not a fan of this trade.

Now if you did Fehérváry instead of TVR. I would do that. I would consider adding a 3rd round pick also. Now we would be talking.

I get waiver exempt for Leafs but can’t always get what you want. Lindgren has been so good and only 1.1 million for next year is a great deal for TML. Solid RHD man also and the Leafs are back in business!🙂

You can’t always get what you want but you also shouldn’t acquire players that put you in a worse situation later on. I’d be extremely worried if Woll got hurt again and Jones was lost to waivers and they were left with Lindgren and an AHL call up option. Just doesn’t sound like a competing team level of goaltending at that point

Toronto has no interest on TVR.
Do you think Samsonov is going to have a reset in Washington?

We will disagree then. Fehry is in the age group B Mac has slowly been building under the aging core and a later 20’s pick can be hit or miss for Caps

or Jensen then…
As for Sammy, he’s to make the monies more equal.

In that scenario you are right.

Nick Jensen could work.
If the Leafs can't find any RHD, then Nick Jensen could be the last option.
In my opinion.

Caps can get more than that in that deal. TOR is desperate. Add another good pick or prospect going to the Caps.

Ok lets say the alternative is do nothing. Woll and sammy or Jones are left. Samsonov is playing like an echl goalie and Jones is a fringe NHLer. I think this might be a worse situation.

Why is that the alternative? Like I said Toronto needs to acquire a goalie that’s waiver exempt and that helps the situation

And now Samsonov is on waivers and Toronto had 2 goalies capable of playing in the NHL.
