Skinner could maybe net a 6th-7th round pick from a contending team looking for a backup.

Hawks easily decline. They aren't giving up a top 40 pick for Skinner. They aren't giving up any pick to acquire a goalie.

I think EDM could find interest from other teams in Skinner, but more than likely not from CHI.

Skinner is a great goalie with good Cap hit and term. He’s only getting better and better at his age.

It would be stupid to trade him.

You’re thinking of the Stuart Skinner behind the worst defensive play in the League that was the Oilers to start the year. I’m thinking of the actual Skinner, who will continue putting up elite numbers behind a now fixed Oilers defence.

Lol okay. Just admit you don’t watch Oilers games. Cause if you did you’d know that this good defensive group was playing horrific to start the year which explains Skinners horrid numbers. Now see the defence after Coffey and Knoblauch took over and see Skinners numbers too.

It’s easy to look at just the stats sheets and pretend you know a player or team. But it’s not an accurate take. Skinner is a good goalie and give it another month and maybe people like you will catch up to people that actually watch the games.

All the numbers that take into account shot quality against say Skinner has been horrific.

If you want you can unnecessarily blame your dmen and forwards for the disasters of Skinner and Campbell.

Shot quality in twitterlytics only takes into account shot location and none of the things that actually matter like uncontested vs contested, one timer or not, east west pass or not, etc etc.

So again you don’t know Jack **** if all you do is look at the stats sheets. Which is exactly what you are doing. Watch the games and educate yourself.

All of those things are taken into account by more advanced models. All of which say Skinner has sucked

Advanced models like who’s or what?

They all rely on publicly available data which is shot location ONLY. So sorry to break your fantasy, but you can’t in fact know about hockey without actually watching hockey.

The eye test you don’t even use cause you don’t watch Oilers games?

Okay then. Give it another month for the stats to catch up to those in the know, then maybe you’ll be able to form a valid opinion.

A month ago I was telling people Skinner would recover cause I actually watched every minute of his career. Since then he’s had 2 shutouts and 2 1 GA only games, and sporting one of the best save percentages in the League. So keep thinking you “know” the player, you’ll be proven hilariously wrong in short order.

Way longer than that. His game has recovered since more than a month now and is only getting better. The 2nd shutout in that time against San Jose is just signs of more to come.

.907 since the coaching change. .900 is league average by the way this year. So he’s actually performing better than average and getting better culminating in a shutout last night.

I mean if you want to continue thinking “Skinner sucks” you are wrong and will be even more wrong as this season plays out. So if you want to be wrong, keep on doing your thing I guess.

The defensive troubles were named stuart skinner, and the trouble was his inability to stop a beach ball.

Nope. The defensive issues were called Woodcroft, and they’ve been fixed right when Woodcroft was shipped off. Stuff you’d know if you actually watched games instead of talking out of your ass.

lol the defense was fine under woodcroft. When any remotely decent chance ends in the back of your net because of incompetent goaltending it has a way of tricking "watch the games" fans into thinking that the defense is worse than it is

No it wasn’t. When the flames score 9 against you in one playoff game the defence ain’t right and hasn’t been right for a long while.

The chances going in against skinner were higher dangers than your XG models can account for. Something you can only see by watching the games, which you don’t cause you think Jfresh is gospel.
