The fact remains that of the Jets make a ridiculous overpay for 1 1/2 years of a player, make themselves much worse now and in the there and take back an awful contract in Sanheim that they have no use for, they'd have to be dead certain they can resign that player. Because not only are they giving up on this season, by severely weakening the defense and depth, but also weakening themselves in the future.
