I'm assuming you're a Bruins fan, cause this isn't close to the value of Guentzel..........

I think Guentzel's an 85 player getting treated like an 88 or an 89.

Massive buyer beware for me. It's smart for Pittsburgh to move him, because I think they're 80% likely to win that trade.

That is a bit of a bold statement - he is a good hockey player that is made better with his line mates, but never the less he would be a solid player for almost any team.

85s are still good players, top 6 for sure... but I don't see him as being elite.

NJ did the same thing during their glory days of Patrick Elias... they could never afford the guys Elias bolstered so the linemates moved on, made big money, and teams thought they were getting elite players when they were really just getting top 6 players bolstered by Patrick Elias on their line... see Clarkson, Gomez, Gionta, Arnott, Sykora, etc... just the way it is.

I hope the team trading for him gets an elite player out of him, but I won't at all be surprised if his production goes down a step on another team.

I get your POV for sure, I mean I consider the elite players more like the Pasta, Sids, McDavids etc. Those players (and more) are elite. Jake is a great little player and will likely still do well in any team he would move to given his skill and ethic. As for some of the players you mentioned, Clarkson, Gionta and Gomez were not as raw skilled as Jake. Arnott was good player and likely doesn't belong on your list for what he did.

Sure there is buying beware on almost any trade - I mean look at Laine? Its not like he forgot how to play hockey, just some coaches and systems don't always bring out the best in players, some let them excel and some handcuff them.
