Quoting: SomeonesOffended
Leafs already would decline this trade so why would you make it even worse for the leafs? Lmao are you even a leafs fan or just a pretender?
Make it worse because Liljegren is more valuable than Timmins? Lily was supposed to be an offensive defenseman and he has 1 assist and 6 shots in 11 games. He played on the top pair with Rielly last night and had 0 points in a 7-0 game. 0 points in 7 playoff games as well.
Meanwhile, Timmins came back from a long layoff and put up great numbers with the Leafs last season, and is currently on a 5 game point streak. He's also signed at 1.1 mil for this year and next, after which he becomes an RFA. Can you not see his value from simply watching the games?
Tolvanen is a guy who was on pace for 27 goals last year with the Krakken as a 23 year old. He's also cheap and expires as an RFA, awhile playing a physical game and being solid defensively. Even capfriendly has him as a 2nd line player already. Robertson's offensive production is inconsistent and he doesn't bring enough attributes elsewhere to make up for that at this point in time.
Larsson is exactly what we need, a top pair RHD D who is great defensively, mobile, can move the puck and provide physicality. He was Seattle's MVP in the playoffs last year when they were able to shutdown the Avs offense and lead the league in ATOI.
It likely wouldn't cost this much, but if this were a take it or leave it trade I'm taking it and would prefer to keep Timmins over Lily. Only thing I question with this roster is leaving Brodie on the top pair, but this guy has a good understanding of what this team needs to get over the top.
My only adjustment would be to the D pairings:
Rielly - Larsson
Seeler - McCabe
Brodie/Benoit - Timmins
Brodie/Benoit
Unreal balance throughout the lineup, unreal depth... this is a cup worthy team.
