Sam Carrick is a "natural" center and Brett Leason is a RW. I think that a second and a fourth for Henrique plus a fifth for a fourth-liner is about right. I think that this trade is good on value and wouldn't break my heart, but I love all three of those guys.

Believe it or not, I'd prefer the two lower picks to be 2025's because we have enough 2024 selections.

We'd prefer to send Carrick, we're happy with our Leason experiment. He's big, he's young, he hits, he's good defensively and chips in some points here and there, everything you can ask for from a bottom 6 winger.

My point being, he's not worth loosing for a late round pick, probably not even a mid pick, he fits our timeline and can grow with the core of the team. He's a guy we intend to resign and keep around, whereas guys like Henrique and Carrick are expendable, as there's really no chance they are still hanging around when our window opens.
