im not so sure stamkos wouldnt waive to winnipeg, he has stated that he really values his privacy and likes small market teams and them being not within the atlantic division and being a contender, I think it is possible but probably not likely

Yeah, I'd believe it when I see it. I can't think of one star player that has ever agreed to waive their trade protection to go to Winnipeg. So it would be a first.

Tampa declines this offer anyway. If Stamkos was to actually waive his nmc, which he likely won't be doing, Tampa would get a better return than a projected late 1st, a nothing 5th, a meh dman and an oft injured prospect. At the very least they should be looking at what Giroux returned and go from there(since Stamkos is a better player).
