If by "beat up on LAK" you mean your backup stood on his head (again, Jonathan Quick will not be seeing a playoff game unless igor is hurt or gets pulled), vs the kings backup goalie (who again, will never be seeing a playoff game).

You should be worried. Rangers lost to Jersey last year with Igor playing the best hockey of his life, and the rangers roster is worse this year.

Devils core of 19 year old nemec, 20 year old hughes, 22 year old hughes, 22 year old mercer, and 21 year old Holtz is just gonna get better and better every day.

But the devils were just so much better 5v5. Controlling play, generating chances, putting pucks on net. You had a 42% xGoals share 5v5 (to put that into perspective, that would rank 31st in the NHL behind the blackhawks at 43%, but ahead of the sharks at 40%). Thorough domination.

Now the canes outplayed us, but they didn't dominate play like we did against you. And the canes don't look as dominant as they have in past years. But yeah I'd much rather play the rags in the playoffs than the canes

The goaltending gap gave you guys like a 14 goal difference in 7 games. And you still managed to lose the series. Because like I said, you were thoroughly DOMINATED in terms of actual hockey. Now just imagine if the devils get average, or good goaltending, and Shesterkin plays like he's been playing lately. Yikes
