Fire Shanahan and Keefe FAST

Équipe: 2023-24 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 13 déc. 2023
Publié: 13 déc. 2023
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
How long do we need to keep this garbage Shanahan !
He has zero NHL experience.
Never played for TML or even wanted to.
Was not even respected or liked on his own team.( Look up the problems he had and why his team mates beat him up)
His plan was never a good one and every single person with a brain knew it never would work.
Then he re signs Keefe for what to secure his own job so he does not get fired so he can blame Keefe?

These trades are bad for Toronto #1

#2 The President's job in Toronto isn't about knowledge its about connections. Shanahan has ownership in his pocket . He's under contract till the end of next seasons (2024-25) at over $7M a year. If they fire him they still need to pay that. Much easier to walk away from Dubas with no money left or even and entire front office (50 people making 100,000) than to dump him.

Babcock had several years left of his contract at 8m per so that is not a good point on the money thing.
Most are just showing the stupid losses we gave up on.
Others are players we should have had and could have like Chycrun.
Never should have waived McCann.
And Marner 100% should have been traded for a stud 1st pair right hand defense plus.

Just showing how stupid our management is none of these are real trades.
All mistakes we traded or waived or just thought we should not sign like Chycrun.
And some we never should have signed like Klingberg ,Bertuzzi and Reaves.

Just a whole lot of silliness right here

Why do all this when we good rn. Priority is defense not guys they dont need

That Marner trade is awful for us

Lafferty sure tough loss but its a one off will come down to earth next season wherever he goes as a FA

Hyman's deal's gonna be an anchor and Bertuzzi has been fine

And OTT wont trade with a divisional rival

It's been pretty well reported that Shanahan had the power to fire Babcock. He did it and since then ownership hasn't allowed anyone with term on their deal to be fired without Larry's permissions. That is why Nick Nurse spent a year coaching the Raptors talking every game about how much he hated coaching the Raptors and didn't believe in the team's direction and wanted to leave without getting fired.

The main reason Babcock wasnt fired was primarily money and the Leafs performance in certain games of the Boston series specifically game 5. Only when they lost 6 in a row did MLSE realize we got to do it.

If you got a year left wont mean you aint fired if the team sucks

Ex if Leafs lost 6 in a row this season early Keefe would have been gone but they didnt. Heck we saw it with Woodcraft in EDM

What Babcock did teach is no more crazy big coaching deals which was why Keefe got 2 years

The Nurse thing was different as Masai isnt the kind of guy to do that. He doesnt like change on the fly.

I'm just saying that the stance at MLSE about firing executives/coaches with big money contracts is a primary reason why last summer when Dubas is trying to push Shanny out he loses.

They aren't going to pay Dubas $5-7M per year + pay Shanny $7M for 2 more years to do nothing. Even if they think Dubas is better they rather just keep Shanny and pay Tre $1-2M. It's $10M+ in savings over those 2 years.

Am having trouble following your train of thought 'He has zero NHL experience.' Shanahan played 1,524 games in NHL, Keefe played 125 games, so what are you saying?
You also said 'Never played for TML or even wanted to' why is this relevant, it would have also applied to Jim Montgomery, or Jon Cooper or John Tortorella or Tick Tocchet, or Mike Sullivan or others who the Leafs would gladly hire.
After reading your preamble, didn't even bother to consider the trades you posted.

Dubas should know how the system works but he learned about business and hierarchy fast lul

GM's need a guy above to keep them in check otherwise they ****ed

He wanted more autonomy when in fact the system had it to where he had a good chunk. Any more and he basically just wanted Shanny's job which of course he aint gonna give him

Like man Dubas tried to take the food away from the hand that gave him all those opportunities kind of sad lul

Anyways now hes running an old folks home should be interesting
