Sincerely asking here cause I'm not dialed on Sens players at the moment, but why is Norris relegated to 3LW in this? Has he been playing that poorly to have Greig and Pinto jump over him in C depth?

meh, whole team stinks but Norris is very much invisible out there. Another dynamite GMPD signing working out.

When you give out the 8x8 contract to young guys, you're gonna miss sometimes (not saying Norris a miss, he's still young and returning from sever injury). I think on the whole though, PD seemed to have a wicked young core locked up on what's looking to be mostly amazing contracts by years 3,4,5. I'm confused as to why the team isn't winning, but like I said, I don't watch too many of their games. Coach?

He's been looking rough after coming back from his shoulder surgery. Going to the wing would protect him from taking so many faceoffs. Also, e used to have a 200-foot game but not anymore. As a winger, he can focus on trying to get back into his 35-goal form in just 66 games a few seasons ago. Basically, he's just a PP merchant. Grieg is much more reliable in his own zone.

I’d assume Norris won’t look the same for possibly the whole year. It takes a while to come back from a longterm injury and find your groove

- JBD gets claimed very fast. That would be stupid to do just to keep guys like Kelly, Highmore or MacEwen on the roster. I think that the fact that they went 11 F and 7 D last game shows that it's not the plan

- Love that top-9 but the way to get cap compliant is to trade Kubalik, rather than losing JBD on waivers and play Kubalik on the 4th line, which is completely useless

It's useless to evaluate anybody right now as the team is dysfunctional in general, particularly when they don't have the puck

See I'm not so sure JBD gets claimed so fast, he already made it through at least once this year. And what has he really improved on in that time, shot blocking? Even if he were to get claimed, the same thing with Lassi could happen and Ottawa is the first team to be able to reclaim him back again.

And you make a solid point about Kubalik-- he's first on my list to trade off this team. Two and a half mil on the fourth line would be pretty useless (even tho I think he's an underrated in a checking role, he's created some goals this year from his work below the goal line). I'd love to know which teams have been kicking tires on him (I heard teams are) as I hate thinking of potential trades from complete thin air. Has there been any rumors yet?

Man think about Batherson, too. He was our all-star playing at over a PPG before his LT injury. Hasn't ever looked the same since. I'm afraid Norris will never return to groove.
