I guess the only question is how quickly does Parayko start dropping off. On one hand he is our best defender and letting him go would absolutely shred the defense and any hopes of contending. On other hand maybe Parayko has a good year this year and then drops off over the following years. He has so much term left and while his contract is great now it probably will not be later. Getting futures for Parayko may not be a bad bet if he ends up in the same category as leddy and Krug in 2-3 years.

I'd rather have Garland. I know other Canuck fans are eager to get rid of his cap hit but he brings so much skill and energy to that 3rd line, he just is so snakebitten right now.
