Almost all of this is spot on, but I must remind that point production is not the sole measure of a player. Kyrou is an elite transition player and has shown he's ready to be more responsible/active defensively this season.
Now if he can just remember to how to hit the net (another crossbar pegged last night)...
I don't disagree at all but it's just that the Sens can't afford to add that 3 M$ difference. If they had the same cap hit, I'd take Kyrou without thinking because Kyrou is a better skater and goal scorer. Batherson has a tantalizing skillset but is more of a playmaker who needs a scoring talent beside him, which would normally be Josh Norris but the guy is still working on getting his game back.
Also, I can't give you on report on Batherson defensively because no one is good in DJ's systems, even guys who did pretty well elsewhere just before. Batherson is also not fully back to his game he had in 2021-22 before Aaron Dell cheap shoted him. He was the Sens best player before that, more than Tkachuk, Chabot, Norris, Stutzle, etc. He had 34 pts in 31 games and was going to the All-Star game. He was breaking out in a major way
And don't worry about crossbars/posts, Batherson probably averages 1 per game, it's actually kinda ridiculous

Ok but what actually has to be added to make up the difference between Kyrou and Brady. Assigning values to core players is always tough but maybe Brady for Kyrou, 2024 2nd, 2025 2nd
or swap out picks for prospect like Dean.
As good as Kyrou is, Sens wouldn't do this for a lot of reasons. Two 2nds or Dean wouldn't change anything
