I understand the panic in Penguin-land, but moving Rakell is a mistake. Good players have poor starts. It happens. You don't jump ship on a player who's been a consistent player throughout his career because of a bad start. Rakell is a very good player even when not scoring.

I think Rakell is a good valuable player and I think everyone who wants to move him would agree. But it can't be denied that we really need to improve the bottom 6 and arguably the 3rd d pair as well. There's no way to do that unless we clear cap. That makes Rakell a candidate. We'll probably have to move someone that is good for that to happen

Unfortunately the reality is that making moves right now is very unlikely. You'd have to target $2M-ish players on teams willing to retain salary. Dubas will have to be discerning in his hunt.

Think players like:
Vrana
Barabanov
Duclair

Then it will take moving out someone like DOC, POJ or if he's willing, someone like Nieto.
