Marners a hometown boy and doesn’t waive now I would trade Willy and add to that though

Doing this trade in 2019 is probably almost as bad as trading Nylander for Wilson. Who knows if Tkachuk would have ever taken it to the next level had he played in Toronto? Either way, I don't think having Tkachuk over Marner would have given them a cup.

Not sure if you meant to say Marner's slow start but his start has been better than Tkachuk's this year so it wouldn't be considered a downside.

Tkachuk was already very good in 2019. I doubt the Flames would gave traded him.

Even if this deal played out, he still would have ended up playing in the US, as soon as he was able to. He wants warm weather and favorable tax situations.

I think Calgary would’ve taken the 1 for 1 and ran at that point in time. I thought we should’ve traded Marner for Tkachuk in the summer of 2022 as well and tbh that trade would’ve probably worked out pretty good for each side.

He didn’t have any trade protection prior to this summer so sucks to suck he would’ve had to pack his bags
