I agree that's an insane price for three months but I was thinking we'd sign him to a long-term deal like the Islanders did with Horvat
Lankinen would be a good choice but I don't know that the Preds would be willing to move him and Monte seems like he's at least avaliable

It's probably an overpay for Montembeault, though it may be fair value. He's been very, very good in Montreal behind an awful defence. So, moving him might jinx him or he could be outstanding behind Carolina's defence. Not sure

Obviously, value-wise, you are spot on or even overpay. But why would MTL trade Monty? That is the thing, obviously, we are rolling 3 goalies, so one should be traded, but Monty is our best goalie, and can be a solid 1B or backup for many many more years, while most likely keeping a cheap contract.

I think the Hurricanes need to get younger at the position while still being solid and Montembeault would probably be great behind the Hurricanes defense

Habs would need a lot more to consider moving Monty over Allen

Sending Drury and Teravainen (with an extension) + everything else is insane for UFA rental. The Horvat model of a roster piece + prospect + 1st is more than fair for Lindholm. He'd more than likely be a 3C or 2RW considering the lineup and the emergence of Seth Jarvis as a legit first liner

Im sure an extension could be negotiated with Lindholm as well, but I said CAR can just keep Drury, because we wouldn’t want him. We’d want EITHER Necas or Teravainen with an extension

That is quite the hot take my friend... Aho is way better on both in his own end and in the offensive zone than Lindholm. He's also a much more consistent producer than Lindholm.
Necas or Teravainen with an extension is an insane asking price for somebody who's only scored above 30 goals once... A first, a roster player, a decent prospect is a more than fair price for a low-end 1C/high-end 2C

Lindholm isn’t looking for a $9mil/yr contract just because he’s greedy and he’s certainly not interested in being a Bottom-6 forward.

Sounds like you as a GM would be too cheap and therefore Lindholm wouldn’t be a fit there and IF he’s Traded, the Flames will get a better offer elsewhere

Lindholm lost his wingers and it’s been a revolving door on his Wing ever since. Hard to maintain his scoring pace when that happens, but he’ll bump his number up by the deadline. He definitely needs a play driving winger though to be successful
