24-25 Two Trades For A Deeper Team

Créé par: edeangel84
Équipe: 2024-25 Penguins de Pittsburgh

Description
This team has two balanced PP’s and two balanced PKs. It maintains goaltending depth and gives us a change on the wing by bringing in a bigger body to get to the front of the net. Rakell is an overall better player than Anderson but moving him and adding a retained Anderson gives us room to sign Monahan, Sundqvist, and Tanev.

Honestly what about a Anderson+ for Rakell deal? Habs aren't retaining for 3 more years on Andy but swapping for another struggling player, sure.

Don't see how making the team worse is making it deeper but I guess we all have our own unique definitions of words.

Rakell is definitely not a cap dump. Penguins decline everything.

rakell can't be considered a struggling player. had a very unfortunate 15games, but he is still a very solid player.

Would have to be Anderson++ for Rakell. Man just came off of a 60 pts season. Rakell has had a slow 17 games, doesn't mean he is a cap dump. If we are talking about slow starting players then we may as well throw McDavid in the mix. Like get real here

There's no reason Montreal would retain on Anderson (or any player with a long term contract) for that kind of return. They don't need the space.

That sounds like the textbook definition of a "struggling player".

I thought about it but it depends on if Rakell has Montreal on his 8 team NTC

I don’t think he is either but a team that is rebuilding will want paid to take his contract.

Wow you are by far the most clueless Pens fan I’ve seen on all the time I’ve used CF. Congratulations

I mean what he did last year has no bearing on what he's doing this year and this year he is struggling. Not sure what the debate is here? Is he still a good player, sure. But yes he is also struggling. Just like McDavid. Except McDavid could have zero points this year and every team would still send their entire prospect pool to trade for him so no not comparable at all. Either way Im not advocating that Anderson = Rakell here ether. That's why Habs would need to add the + as I stated. Plus it was OP that traded for Anderson and traded Rakell as a cap dump. I simply wanted to see if there was a chance at a swap.

Possibly. I mean we need to just assume is the scenario that he would waive for them. There's no way of knowing where he would want to go to right now.

Yeah that would make sense from that angle I guess. But Penguins would still decline either way
