My assumption is we try to build up Bussi and see where he’s at next summer. If he’s ready, then maybe you consider it. He will require waivers next year and that will be a consideration.

After two years of great play, my assumption is Ullmark will carry more value in a year where he can extend immediately

Right but why?
Both goalies are completely capable of taking the reigns
and lead the team each year. No cup winning team I can think of won the cup with goalies that switched every game.
If Bussi is ready give the reigns to Swayman and trade ullmark while he is at his maximum value.

Maybe because that combination is responsible for the best record in the NHL since the beginning of last year by a wide margin. As long as Montgomery is open to playing both in the playoffs, this is an overstated concern.

For the right price, I’d absolutely consider it next offseason

A tandem that was horrid in the playoffs. Regular season wins are good, playoff wins are better. Love how great that tandem has been. But it doesn’t matter if you can’t win the cup
