No from Detroit. Two pieces of the future and an already claimed (most likely) draft pick in addition to Seider’s partner and current 1LHD are not being parceled off one year of Marner and Kerfoot 2.0.

I’m sure he accepts to Detroit. They are a contending team. Marner or Willy had to go to make room for some quality defence.

You can get quality defenders and keep them both

There would definitely have to be a sign and trade in place. Wouldn’t expect that return for a rental.

Detroit’s not the team. 8 year rebuild isn’t getting catapulted forward down the stretch just to sign 1 guy, since it has evidently not worked (McDavid, Draisaitl, Matthews, Marner). His extension would create a chain reaction of new moves to accommodate, forcing cap issues and forced trades.

Detroit is not the team for a Marner trade. Too much to give up (even if it's fair). Better we keep on course.
